What is OSW? Who represents OSW?

Outside the Walls (OSW) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Blount County, AL dedicated to serving communities through outreach, worship, and practical support. Our organization is made up of individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences — including bikers, blue-collar workers, educators, retirees, chaplains, veterans, and many others — united by a shared mission of faith, service, and compassion.

At our core, OSW exists to share the Gospel while meeting the needs of others in tangible and meaningful ways. We believe ministry extends beyond the walls of a building, which is why we are committed to serving wherever and whenever needs arise. Rather than being confined to a single location, OSW is a flexible and community-focused organization that adapts to meet the changing needs of those we serve.

Through servant leadership, outreach, and authentic relationships, we strive to be a consistent source of hope, support, and encouragement within our community.

What do we do?

OSW operates by the motto, “See a need. Meet a need.” What began as a simple worship service for those seeking a place free from church politics and traditions has grown into a mission focused on serving others wherever the need exists — even if worship happens under an Oak tree.

Over time, OSW has been blessed with opportunities to serve beyond the walls through outreach and community involvement. We provide weekly worship services and monthly meals at Royal Pines Recovery Center, as well as quarterly meals at Crossroads Recovery Center. We also sponsor The Navigators as they raise servant leaders, provide tutoring throughout the school year, and support our community in meaningful and practical ways.

At our core, OSW is about meeting people where they are, building authentic community, and serving with love, humility, and purpose. As we continue to grow, we hope to expand our outreach through additional opportunities such as Bible studies, mentorship, and other programs that meet both practical and spiritual needs.
